What is Holistic Dog Grooming?

Holistic grooming is looking at each pet as an individual and taking into account the  mental, emotional and physical health and wellbeing of your pet. 

What works for one dog may not work for another, with this in mind I can adapt the grooming experience rather than trying to make the dog fit in with the normal grooming routine.

For example one dog may be perfectly happy to be dried with the high velocity blaster dryer and like the strong wind force against the hair and skin whereas another dog may be completely overwhelmed  by the force of the high velocity, in which case the solution may be to use the more gentle stand dryer and reduce the wind and/or heat settings until the dog is at a stage where he/she is happier to commence with being dried

Other times it may just be the type of brush being used or even the way in which the dog is being handled,

Being a holistic dog groomer means constantly being aware of the dogs body language and behaviour.

PUPPY INTRODUCTION 
FOR AGE 3 to 6 MONTHS

1st Visit Meet & Treat

Introduction to salon,staff and equipment  through play, treats/food, desensitising techniques, spiral massage all at your puppies consent.

We groom at a speed suited to your dogs needs.

We will show you how to maintain your dogs  coat  using the correct tools and products for your dogs specific coat type.

2nd Visit

Shampoo Bath. Gentle brush and dry .Nail trim. Puppy freshener spray.   

3rd Visit

Face, Feet and Tail Tidy

We recommend at least 3 sessions before moving onto a full groom.

We do not guarantee to complete a full groom in one session. We do not force through the groom.
